About the Publisher / Author / Illustrator
Not long ago, in a town you've probably heard of and maybe even been to, a soon-to-be middle-aged, balding father, lying in bed reading bedtime stories to his young daughter, noticed something strange. It seemed that all the princesses in these fairy tales needed to be saved and that their most important quality was their beauty.
He didn't like that at all. He didn't want his daughter to grow up in such a world. So, as he read, he started changing little words here and there. Suddenly a "beautiful" princess became a "brave" one, and he saw the sparkle in his daughter's eyes!
This gave rise to the idea for Fairy Tales Retold, with a simple but effective premise:
Changing one word can change everything!
